Ukrainian partisan bunker

During a hike on the Vysokyi Verh mountain near Slavske in the Ukrainian Carpathians, I saw a weathered Cyrillic sign “Museum”, which awakened my sense of discovery. After 50 m from the path we saw a wooden door in the mountain. Suddenly a grandfather came running up to us and explained that this was a former partisan bunker of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), which was fighting from 1942 to 1956. For a small entry he led us through his realm. Unfortunately he couldn't speak English or German. A typical partisan shelter from World War II could be seen underground. A German museum curator would roll up his toenails here because of the unscientific exhibition. But the "naive" representation of partisan life with mannequins also had its natural charm! Anyway, we had our fun!  Somehow the people in this structurally weak region have to earn a bit of money.
